Exhibitors, kid-friendly activities, food, and more will be held outdoors on the Jefferson Center for the Arts grounds while the presentations & films will be indoors. We’ll let loose and continue to celebrate Mama Earth later in the evening at the benefit concert at Spring Hill Nursery & Gardens.

On Sunday, we’ll circle and hold a water blessing ceremony for the 9th annual blessing at the headwaters in City Park.

Nourish: Food + Community illustrates how food connects to such issues as biodiversity, climate change, public health, and social justice. Hosted and narrated by actress Cameron Diaz. Interviews with best-selling author Michael Pollan, sustainable food advocate Anna Lappé, chef Bryant Terry, pediatrician Dr. Nadine Burke, and organic farmer Nigel Walker.  Join us on Earth Day at 11:45am inside the Jefferson Center for the Arts 1124 Pine Grove Dr Mount Shasta 96067.

1pm Dr. Will Tuttle
Time to Wake Up: A Deeper Look at Food and Sustainability

Dr. Tuttle’s teachings express the heart and soul of the environmental, health, freedom, and animal liberation movements. They call for an awakening from the cultural narratives of exploitation that are wreaking havoc on every level.  This special Earth Day presentation will also include practical tips for living a healthier and more environmentally-friendly life from Dr. Tuttle and his wife, Madeleine, a visionary artist, organic gardener, and whole-foods chef.  This presentation begins at 1:00pm inside the Jefferson Center for the Arts 1124 Pine Grove Dr Mount Shasta 96067.

Eco-Architecture and Zero Energy Buildings

A building that cleans the water that falls on it? A building with no need for heating and cooling systems? A building where people generate its power? A building that cannot burn or get soaked with water? This and much more is what local resident and global architect, Eugene Tssui (pronounced, “sway”) will present as he takes us into the future of architecture that will be built on 7.3 acres of land on Spring Hill Drive. S.C.R.A.P.S. Art Cart
Siskiyou County Art Council

Join the Siskiyou County Art Council’s SCRAPS Art Cart for a fun day of eco-educational crafting! Be there at any time from noon to 4pm Saturday April 22nd at Jefferson Center for the Arts 1124 Pine Grove Dr Mount Shasta 96067.

The SCRAPS Art Cart will be providing FREE, all-age art projects made from upcycled materials that are often discarded such as bird-feeders made from plastic bottles and painted plant pots made from tin cans.

6pm Spring Hill Concert
Far Out West + Johnny Callahan Concert

Join us on Earth Day Saturday April 22nd at 6:00pm at Spring Hill Nursery and Gardens at 1234 Nixon Road Mount Shasta 96067 for what promises to be a rocking good time with friends and family. From the Sundown Poachers, Johnny Callahan, will entertain us with his mountain charm, and folk singing.  Following Johnny will be Portland’s own, Far Out West! Propelled by the compositions of guitarist and vocalist Liz Chibucos, Far Out West leans into the grounded wildness of classic funk, soul, and freewheeling jazz-rock. Sunday 3pm Water Blessing Ceremony
Michelle Berditschevsky and Ray Nobriga
On Sunday April 23rd starting at 3 p.m., a Water Blessing Ceremony & Poetry Reading will be held just down from the Headwaters Spring at Mt. Shasta City Park. This year’s Ceremony (our 9th annual Water Blessing) will be led by Ray Nobriga, who is a shamanic practitioner in the Peruvian tradition, and Michelle Berditschevsky, founder of the Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center and long-time learner from local Tribal Elders.  Michelle will open the Blessing with a simple ritual in which together we’ll invoke the gifts of Water.  Ray will then lead us in an Andean Despacho Ceremony.
