We need your support to carry on our work! Here’s just a few of the things we’re doing:
- Fire and Resiliency – promoting responsible forest management including prescribed fire, building healthy forests and safeguarding public lands.
- Ecosystem Restoration – meadows, watersheds and pollinator projects.
- Preventing Geothermal Fracking – at Medicine Lake Highlands.
- Community Education – science fair, nature walks, school programs, public workshops.
- Policy Advocacy – with elected officials and agencies.
Individuals and business sponsors give us vital, core funding so we stay as a strong voice for Mount Shasta. We also create free public programs and community events focusing on our efforts to preserve, protect and restore the forests, waters and wildlife around our amazing mountain.
We are a California 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization – donations may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Our 2018 financial summary is posted here.
For 2019, we’re innovating – your donations will help us further develop crucial programs and proposals. Right now, fire programs are huge – we’re working to protect our community and safeguard local forests for future generations. It’s no longer just about sustainability – it’s time for regeneration.
There are several ways that individuals can contribute:
This monthly giving campaign is like a membership, but more fun! It’s a new way that let’s us provide special rewards, insight and access to our most steadfast donors! We’ve created four patronage tiers, something for every budget – it’s easy to sign up here on Patreon. We’re just starting, and will add new rewards and benefits as we go along. Mountain patrons – locals and visitors alike – will make sure we have a healthy foundation which we all need now more than ever!
Donate via PayPal or check
Your one-time donation is appreciated any time during the year! We use PayPal as an easy, safe and secure way to accept your online contribution. Of course there are fees associated with this and similar programs. To avoid those fees, we encourage you as another alternative to mail your check to the Mount Shasta Bioregional Ecology Center, PO Box 1143, Mt. Shasta, CA 96067. It’s simple!
Each year on the Tuesday after Thanksgiving, Shasta Regional Community Foundation hosts North State Giving Tuesday, a 14-hour online giving event. This is a day of giving back, following two days of holiday “deals” at Thanksgiving time (Black Friday and Cyber Monday). In 2018, we had our best year ever, with contributions totaling $11,828 from 102 unique donors. We are extremely grateful for your support!
