As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, we can serve as fiscal sponsor of projects in alignment with our mission. This lets us support innovative activities benefiting the community by providing financial management and program development resources, and allowing donors to make contributions to these activities which may be tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. We receive an administrative portion of funds raised, typically 10%.
At present, we are fiscally sponsoring:
- The School CAFE project to bring healthy food to Mt. Shasta schools
- The Community Garden in Shastice Park
- The grant funded Walking Backwards film and book project on the life of the late Karuk elder, Charlie Thom.
- In addition, we are safeguarding crowdfunding proceeds raised to create a natural history book, “The Way of the Mountain” until its authors return from Peace Corps service in Africa.
