Panther Meadow Trail Maintenance

Panther Meadow Trail is a delicate and stunning trail. This awe inspiring trail winds around an alpine meadow that is biodiverse and remains a sacred space for the Indigenous people of the area. We’ve committed to helping keep this trail maintained to help ensure the ecology of the area isn’t destroyed.

We’ll be scheduling a trail maintenance day in August 2022. Stay tuned by filling out the volunteer application today.

Background:

In 2020 the Shasta McCloud Management Unit (SMMU) held a meeting regarding Trail Maintenance to address the needs of the SMMU National Forest System trails. We were one of many environmental and outdoor recreation organizations that came together to discuss the maintenance needs of our locals trails, established a schedule of what trails and which groups, organizations, and agencies will complete volunteer trail maintenance, discussed trail training sessions, and renewed volunteer agreements and the Forest Service policy on trail maintenance. It was at this time that we took on volunteering to complete maintenance and condition surveys of the trails within Panther Meadows.
