2024 CFR: Deetz Road Neighborhood Work Weekend

Please join your neighbors, MSBEC, CAL FIRE, and other local wildfire protection agencies in the next phase of the Deetz Road Community Fuels Reduction project. On Saturday and Sunday, May 18th and 19th, 2024, we’ll be cleaning up a pre-determined area to enhance fire resiliency for the Deetz Road neighborhood and road ingress/egress routes in the event of a wildfire. Volunteers are needed to assist with the following jobs:

• Main Fuels Reduction Crew
• Support Fuels Reduction Crew
• Safety Crew
• Traffic Crew

All ages and physical abilities are welcome; there’s something to help with for everyone. The Fuels Reduction Crews should be prepared to assist with hands-on physical labor from using power and hand tools to cut, limb and trim trees and brush, hauling brush to chippers, and more. The Safety and Traffic Crews will help keep traffic moving smoothly and protect workers and everyone involved in and around the project safe, hydrated, and energized with snacks and food.
