Why this is important:
This innovative pilot program is designed to nurture family bonds, promote positive mental health outcomes, and support the overall well-being of families through shared experiences in nature. Blending art, science, ecology, and social-emotional learning, families will explore the interconnections between one another and the natural world through nature walks, sing alongs, creative nature arts and crafts, storytelling, friendships and other adult child interactions.
Over the course of two nights and three days, families will camp together and participate in a series of hands-on, eco-friendly activities and cooperative games that emphasize healthy attachment, communication skills, and mindful engagement. Each activity is intentionally designed to foster reflection, emotional connection, and joyful interaction between parents and children.
We aim to:
– Strengthen parent-child relationships through shared discovery and creativity
– Enhance social-emotional development through experiential learning and play
– Promote mental wellness through nature immersion and family connection
– Inspire environmental awareness and stewardship through field-based exploration
This is a First-Year Pilot program. We have space for 10 families to join this year and hope to expand next year. Registration and commitment to attending is required so we can plan for the food and activities. The form to register is in this page.
