Concerned about the timber harvests happening around Mt. Shasta? Want to help the Ecology Center hold private industrial logging companies accountable?

We are inviting committed volunteers to participate in our Forest and Watershed Watch. This workshop will be a great opportunity to learn more and begin a hands-on community advocacy effort.

You will learn how to review Timber Harvest Plans from one of the most experienced THP monitors in California, Rob DiPerna from the Environmental Protection Information Center in Arcata, CA. Rob has scrutinized hundreds of private industrial logging plans for EPIC, focusing on protection of public trust resources, including threatened and endangered species, water quality, and the forests on which they depend.

The workshop will focus on California’s Timber Harvest Plan process and how concerned citizens can effectively participate in this process by reviewing the plans and submitting meaningful, well-researched comments to public agencies.
