Much thanks to all the producers of San Francisco Earth Day! We had a great time connecting with Bay Area environmentalists in the sunny Mission District on Saturday, April 18. Kudos to Douglas Kolberg, Sean Ahearn and the inimitable Mona Lisa Wallace for making this a well organized event and giving us a place to tell people about Mt. Shasta with elegance and ease! Also big ups to Jeff Herzbach and Devon Frohne of the late, great Jellyfish Gallery for tables and chairs, and of course Joegh Bullock of Anon Events for pipe and drape, decor and those amazing fake foam rocks which were so much fun to toss at small children!

We also want to thank the Mt. Shasta Chamber of Commerce, Robin Kohn of the Mt. Shasta Fun Guide, and Danielle Vurpillat of Mt. Shasta Realty for providing literature for our booth. With rents going stratospheric in San Francisco, those who can make their living on the internet should visit and consider locating clean, green businesses here.

Water, water, water – that’s the big issue and everyone we spoke with wondered why Crystal Geyser would want to open a bottling plant in the middle of a drought. Go figure. This was a very aware crowd, with much respect for native cultures and eager to learn what we are doing to save Medicine Lake.  It was great to connect with every person, and bring even more awareness to the unique natural beauty and opportunities available in our area. We are already planning to do this again next year.

Yet, the fun is not over. Please join us for the Maria Muldaur Benefit Concert on Friday, April, 24 at the Mt. Shasta Resort, and the all day local Mt. Shasta Earth Day community celebration at City Park on Saturday, April 25. We will keep our area pristine, and have fun doing it!
